MicroWall FAQs

What is a MicroWall CoB MicroLED display?

MicroWall is a modular, direct-view MicroLED display designed for luxury home cinemas, media rooms and premium commercial spaces. It uses advanced Chip-on-Board technology to create a seamless large-format image with strong contrast, accurate colour and excellent durability. Unlike projection, the image is produced directly by the display and does not require a projector or separate screen.

What MicroWall screen sizes are available?

MicroWall is available in a range of widescreen, ultrawide and panoramic configurations, currently spanning approximately 130 to 196 inches. Bespoke dimensions and aspect ratios can also be created, subject to the modular 600 × 337.5 mm cabinet grid. The most appropriate configuration depends on the available wall space, viewing distance, desired resolution and type of content.

Should I choose a 0.9 mm or 1.2 mm pixel pitch?

The correct pixel pitch depends primarily on screen dimensions, viewing distance, resolution and budget. MicroWall 0.9 mm provides greater pixel density and is best suited to closer viewing positions or projects requiring maximum image refinement. The 1.2 mm configuration provides excellent performance where viewing distances are greater and can offer a strong balance between picture quality and cost.

Is MicroWall suitable for rooms with natural daylight?

Yes. MicroWall operates at 600 nits calibrated brightness, with up to 1,200 nits peak output, making it well suited to rooms with ambient light. Its direct-view image does not require a completely darkened environment. Direct sunlight, glazing and reflections should still be considered when planning the position of the display and room lighting. Discover how MicroWall can be incorporated into a daylight-friendly media room.

Is MicroLED better than a projector?

MicroLED and projection suit different types of cinema. MicroWall provides high brightness, strong contrast and everyday usability without requiring projector throw distance or the same degree of light control. Projection remains an excellent choice for certain dedicated cinemas, particularly where speakers need to be positioned behind an acoustically transparent screen. The best solution depends on the room, screen size, audio design, intended use and budget. Read the complete MicroLED versus projection comparison.

Can MicroWall be customised for my room?

Yes. MicroWall is assembled from modular cabinets, allowing a wide range of display dimensions and aspect ratios to be created. Every system is specified around the available wall space, viewing distance, seating layout, resolution, access, ventilation and architectural design. Bespoke configurations remain subject to the dimensions of the cabinet grid. Explore how MicroWall can be integrated into a dedicated home cinema.

Can MicroWall display 4K content?

Yes. MicroWall can accept and display 4K content, but the display’s native pixel resolution depends on its physical dimensions and selected pixel pitch. Larger displays or finer pixel pitches provide a higher native pixel count. The supplied NovaStar processor maps and scales incoming content to the selected MicroWall configuration.

What video processor is included with MicroWall?

Every MicroWall system includes a professional external NovaStar video processor selected for the display’s resolution and application. Depending on the configuration, processing can include image scaling, colour management, HDR handling, source switching and MultiView layouts. The precise processor model and supported input resolutions are confirmed in the specification for each system. See the MicroWall technical specifications for further details.

How long does a MicroWall display last?

MicroWall LEDs are rated for up to 100,000 hours to half brightness under specified operating conditions. Actual service life depends on brightness settings, daily use, temperature, ventilation and maintenance. Its modular construction allows individual LED modules and other components to be serviced or replaced without replacing the complete display.

What is included with a MicroWall system?

Every MicroWall system includes the CoB LED cabinets and modules, precision mounting structure, professional NovaStar processing, installation cables, flight cases and spare LED panels. Professional UK installation is available separately and includes specialist delivery, assembly, system configuration, image setup and customer handover. Each display is supplied with a comprehensive three-year manufacturer’s warranty. To discuss installation and configuration requirements, contact Cinema Deco.
